Introducing Your 2015 Keynote Speaker, Spencer West!

Toronto-born motivational speaker Spencer West, has faced more challenges in 34 years than most people will face in their lifetime. At the age of five, Spencer West lost his legs as a cause of a genetic disorder, and was told by doctors he would never be able to sit up, let alone walk. Doctors also told his parents he would live a maximum of 18 years, but his parents didn’t hesitate to treat him as they would treat any other child. They supported him through every obstacle and even encouraged him to participate in school activities and sports. Being raised in such a positive atmosphere plays a huge part in the extraordinary life he is living today. Spencer has accomplished so much, including climbing to the top of the 5895-metre high Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania in seven days. 

Spencer West takes part in WE Days organized by Me to We founded by Craig and Marc Kielburger. He describes his life since he lost his legs and is considered one of the best speakers out there. Not only is he featured as an excellent speaker, but as the author of his own book, “Standing Tall: My Journey”, as well as a presence in the documentary, Redefine Possible: The Story of Spencer West. 

Spencer is known to be incredibly passionate and dedicated about his work with Me to We, and has decided to donate half of the proceedings he receives from this conference to the foundation
